"The Three Divas concert in the Wharepai Domain was one of those events that had a touch of class....so we needed an MC with that same class.
Brendan fitted the picture perfectly.  He was warm and friendly with the crowd and performers alike.  He even pulled out a lovely surprise with a special gift for each performer!  I would have no hesitation recommending Brendan for any function that needed a professional MC."

Although most recently known as the TV One Weatherman, Brendan Horan is also an accomplished singer, entertainer and MC.

As an all round sportsman Brendan was involved in Surf Lifesaving at an early age and has represented NZ in Outrigger Canoe, Waterpolo, as a professional lifeguard, and ocean surf ski racing. He has captained the World Professional Lifeguard Team, paddled the Molokai channel in the World Open Ocean Championships 15 times, and coached the Japanese Professional Surf Lifeguard Team and the New Zealand Women’s Waterpolo Team. He is also a dual international Waterpolo representative, having represented both New Zealand and Australia.

His expertise in these aquatic sporting fields led to television presenting roles on ESPN, Hawaiian TV, New Zealand’s TV2 and appearances on Japanese television. He is also highly regarded for his coaching expertise in Waterpolo, Surf Lifesaving, Surfing and Outrigger Canoe Racing and has traveled to many countries to give coaching clinics.

Brendan’s involvement in sport left little time for a traditional 9 to 5 job and he has made a living as a Singer/DJ/MC,  hosting shows at various bars and clubs, private functions, corporate team-building events and national sporting championships. He also worked as a surf coach, owning and operating Aloha Surf School at Piha for 5 years.

He has attended four universities studying Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver-Canada, Physiotherapy at the University of NSW, Performing Arts at Wollongong University and Maori language at Te Wananga O Aotearoa.

Brendan is married with 2 children and currently resides in the quiet Bay of Plenty town of Mt Maungaui where he spends his free time paddling his surf ski, fishing and chilling out with family and friends.
