Ian Jones is New Zealand's most capped test lock. He played 79 tests for the All Blacks, falling just one test short of reaching Willie John McBride's world record of 80 tests. He is also one of a select few players to reach the elusive 100 club, playing 105 matches in total for the All Blacks.

He formed half of one of the most enduring locking partnerships in international rugby history, locking the All Black scrum with Robin Brooke for the better part of eight years.

Ian played out his rugby career in the UK, before returning home to New Zealand in 2002 and joining the SKY rugby commentary team.
