Mark “HORSE” Bourneville, Played his first game of premier rugby league for the Mt Albert rugby league club at 18, He also made his first representative team Auckland that same year, The Hard running no nonsense Winger made his International Debut at 22 on the England & France tour with some of Rugby League’s Greats, Mark Graham, Olsen Filipaina, the Tamati & Sorenson Bros and of course Coach Graham Lowe.
After a series of Injuries ( Two broken arms, Knee Ligament & Broken Jaw ) Halted his NZ playing Career he moved to France to play for the St Esteve XIII team which ruled the French National scene during the 3 years he was there, During HORSE”S stint in France he was also selected to play for France as the first Kiwi to do so.
Since retiring from League HORSE has gained even more notoriety with his explosive boxing style in the “ FIGHT FOR LIFE “ events where to date he has K.O’d three of Rugby’s greats in Steve McDowell, Inga Tuigamala & Lindsey Raki. Where the NZ Yellow Ribbon youth suicide trust was the recipient charity.
He now appears regularly on TVNZ's top rated show " Piha Rescue " As the Piha Senior Boat Sweep taking on the giant Waves at Piha with his fearless Surf boat Crew.
