New Zealand's most accomplished cricketer whose professional career spanned 20 years during which time he became the first ever bowler to capture 400 test wickets and the first cricketer to be knighted while still playing.

Sir Richard was Chairman of Selectors for New Zealand Cricket from July 2000 through to early 2008.

Sir Richard has been a Bank of New Zealand Ambassador since retirement from international cricket in 1990.
